- “Morning Joe” appearance on MSNBC on October 2nd – Dr. Barreto and Dr. Segura appeared on the show to discuss “How Latino voters can impact the midterms.”
- National Journal columnist Ron Fournier devoted his October 6th column to 5 myths about the Latino population that the Latino America book and a subsequent interview with Dr. Barreto and Dr. Segura helped to demolish.

- In a co-authored piece published at the Huffington Post, Dr. Barreto and Dr. Segura assess how “Seriously Flawed Latino Polling in Georgia Leads to Wildly Incorrect Speculation.” In the process, they lay out several of the keys to look for regarding methodologically sound polling of Latino voters.
- Washington Examiner senior political columnist Tim Carney explored the Republican Party’s outreach to Latino voters in an October 8th column, noting, “A new book, Latino America, by social scientists Matt Barreto and Gary Segura, argues that Hispanics vote at much lower levels than other ethnic groups in part because they receive far less attention from politicos. Fewer than one-third of Hispanics say they have been contacted by a party or politician before an election, compared to nearly half of whites, according to the book.”
- Additionally, Latino Decisions’ senior analyst David Damore publishes new analysis in the Washington Post exploring whether the White House’s announced delay in executive action on immigration will depress Latino turnout in 2014, highlighting recent Latino Decisions’ analysis of the topic.
